Actor to life...

One can be a Big Actor to the audience Even some who are not willing audience One can fool sometimes friends with the acts of emotions, well delivered words However in front of a mirror...one can't demand a clap of appreciation. Every Show Ends someday. Every Actor stop Somewhere. Vanity makes people such poor Actors. Pride makes Actors such poor People.

The Foundation Stone Meditation

Soul of man! You live in the reposing head Which opens cosmic thoughts from eternal founts to you: Practice spirit-seeing In peace of mind, Where the eternal goals of the gods Confer The cosmic being’s light On your own I For its free will; And you will truly   think From founts of human spirit. by Rudolf Steiner complete

festivals and reasons...

Hinduism doesn't prescribe standard reasons for any festival, so each festival carries several stories including the localized ones. Challenge is to sustain the capacity to give new contemporary stories in the spirit of the old festivities.

Consumption is not a Vote...

....a thought running since a question posed by a friend  - corporates are dependent on control over consumption, consumption is not a vote, people who consume are not voting the corporate to power over themselves, their lives, leave alone their consumption pattern. however, the need to 'control' consumption to 'sustain' their 'market position' often gets justified with the 'consumption' of their products as the data, raising consumption to almost 'vote' status. voting in a 'democratic' set-up includes control to make policy through majority acceptance, though often it is acquiescence. yet, it does provide policy making its power, the vote of the individual, a privilege granted to the citizen of a nation state for being citizen enough. granted  it has its flaws, but, it does provide the power. consumption is not a vote of confidence. consumerism is not democracy. corporate houses providing infinite options to satisfy the finite...

Satya yuga...

When you look at how difficult it is for very talented people to coexist and work together, you realise how Satya Yuga would have degenerated,  it can't come easily for humans to sustain.. You recognise why Adam was an idiot in Eden, he would have left the place otherwise.

poignant moments....

someone passes away with dialogues un-finished. reminds of all other bonds and dialogues  - paused by distances, momentary strains, artificial busy-ness, situations changes - all of which look rather long. life leaves bodies we bond as we await our turn, we part in sequence we pause in ignorance! poignant moments...

Codge Science

Co rporate d riven g reed Science Definition: Technical 'solutions' that are bandied as Science and quickly cobbled together in a bid to create a myth of providing benefits to a large population, but, primarily 'researched', 'patented' and promoted by a corporate (or many corporates) driven by greed to make a profit for not a reasonable length of time (years) before the same is 'proven' as not friendly to humans and a new 'solution' is similarly cobbled.  Risk: Dependent on power, access to power, corrupt-able nature of power and centralized power. Powerlessness, not having access to power, high integrity among those in power (particularly in political power) and de-centralized power is a huge risk for Codge Science and is countered with aided programmes, public relation campaigns, advertisements, paid media, brokers and sponsored research institutions.  Duration of Life: Self-perpetuating, believes it is immortal.

Decentralisation...

Power concentration is at the cost of trust. The people with more power in government seem so less capable of trusting anyone. Indeed it looks like not to trust anyone is part of the training for getting into power position. Another reason for decentralisation, if concentration of power was more widely spread and far less centralised, there will less reasons to feel threatened or insecure and more  reasons to trust others. Human inability to trust other humans hits at the very foundation of idea of civilisation.

another day of blessing...

'another day' in giving and caring and counting the blessings...a day in remembering and celebrating the capacity to care and love for all in the time most critical and needed... 'so, was it o.k. these 2 days?'  'what is there for it to be o.k., another day', she says, 'i am tired, need to rest now'. i know it is not another day, these were long two days with guests, memories, emotions, gratitude and maintaining equanimity cutting thick air between several dear ones...and elegance and poise among all of these and care to ensure everyone is fed, satisfied and happy. another day, i count this blessing!

submissions...

individual status messages online -- submissions of inability creative presentation of limitations defenseless defenses of weaknesses and continuous word play to escape the self! Sometimes in this crowd the exhalation of honest small wonder of life...

In the sands of time...

Men believe they can leave footprints through structures built Some believe they can leave a mark with goodwill felt There are others with grand designs that believe Heaven on earth will manifest in their times and forever As they have done what it requires! Men and women forever chase this weird notion Of ‘sands of time’ that doesn't exist Forgetting that their presence and work TODAY NOW alone matters!!

Brands and us

Almost all consumer goods product makers now seem to assume that the reason we pay our money in return for their product somehow also includes a clause to be freely advertising their brand name so tastelessly printed all over the product.

watch the mind!

"watch the mind" said the guru. o.k. i try. "now watch the watcher of the mind" said the guru again. ooh! that sounds complicated i try. now who watches and who is watched? says the guru. stillness. don't know. hmmm...hold it. says the guru. ah ha, that sounds interesting!!

...

its amazing watching some people with sharp brains manage themselves in unproductive ways, it is like a sharp and shapely knife cutting durian fruit all over ones' work table. your admiration for the sharpness ends when the smell hits you along with the feeling how long will the mess in the table last.

enslavement to the 'monthly bill'!!

what do all the busy people work for? i often wonder and most time the answer is to pay the "monthly bill" or EMI. most earning people feel a sense of accomplishment paying their bills i suppose. having not worked 'in employment' for most part of my life now, i don't understand the need to work for the dreaded monthly bill. it seems to squatting in a space otherwise one should have towards ones goals in life. did people  ever   live without paying a "monthly bill"? i think so. in villages when they didn't have electricity most people must have been living in their houses drinking water from their wells and growing food from their backyard, there is no EMI if you don't have a loan, there are no electricity bills and because there is no electricity, there is no television either and no need to pay its monthly bill. no schools around and no need pay all those education - enslavement fees each month. if one doesn't have a phone, one more ...

Indian Green Brands...

while most 'green' people may wish away Brands, it can't be denied that they are here to stay for sometime. it is time we build a directory of 'Indian Green Brands', the criteria for them and their listing based on such criteria, just to ensure that every silly advertiser doesn't get away calling their products as 'green' while the be-fuddled consumer wonders and gets more confused.
